Simrad TP32 Tillerpilot
Fast-reacting recirculating ball screws empower this Simrad TP32 tiller pilot to correct sudden wind gusts in 4.0 seconds, delivering 187 lbs of thrust directly to tillers on sailboats up to 39 feet at 12V.
- 4.0-second hardover speed counters sudden gusts
- 187-lb peak thrust moves loaded tillers
- Recirculating ball screw ensures quiet operation
- SimNet and NMEA 0183 ports accept data
- IPX6 waterproof enclosure protects cockpit electronics
The Simrad TP32 Tillerpilot is a self-contained 12V autopilot for tiller-steered sailboats up to 12 m, or 39 ft, overall length. It combines an internal autopilot processor, fluxgate compass, recirculating-ballscrew actuator, control display, and linear tiller drive in one removable cockpit-mounted unit. The TP32 connects to the tiller through a quick-release tiller pin and fixed mounting socket.
The TP32 delivers up to 85 kg, or 187 lb, of peak thrust and uses a fast recirculating ball screw for responsive steering. It supports NMEA 0183 navigation input and SimNet networking, with NMEA 2000 connection available through a suitable adapter. Correct tiller-pin geometry, cockpit clearance, 12V power, and full manual-steering access must be confirmed before purchase.
System Integration
The TP32 is a complete tillerpilot and does not require a separate course computer, heading sensor, or steering drive. It can receive navigation data from compatible NMEA 0183 equipment and can be connected to compatible SimNet or NMEA 2000 networks through the correct adapter.
It is not designed for wheel steering, hydraulic steering, mechanical cable steering, or electronic steer-by-wire systems. Confirm the vessel length, tiller steering arrangement, required thrust, cockpit mounting geometry, power supply, and navigation-data connection before purchase.
Before Ordering
Confirm a compatible tiller-steered sailboat up to 39 ft, sufficient cockpit mounting space, correct tiller-pin and deck-socket geometry, full actuator travel, 12V supply, required thrust capacity, manual-steering access, NMEA 0183 or SimNet connection needs, and appropriate network adapter where required before purchase.
