The B951 uses dual-channel AIS reception, a dedicated DSC watch receiver, and an IP67 enclosure for protected marine installations.
Integration
The B951 needs a dedicated AIS/VHF antenna or approved splitter, programmed MMSI and vessel static data, and a compatible MFD, chartplotter, computer, or mobile device. It is not a VHF voice radio, radar, chartplotter, EPIRB, or collision-avoidance system.
5W SOTDMA Class B AIS can provide higher output and more structured time-slot access than conventional 2W CSTDMA Class B systems, but AIS data remains dependent on VHF reception and other vessels transmitting correctly. Not every boat, buoy, or hazard appears on AIS.
