Integration

The AIT2500 requires a suitable VHF AIS antenna or approved splitter, correct MMSI/static-data programming, and an MFD, computer, or mobile app to view AIS targets. It is not a marine VHF voice radio, radar, chartplotter, EPIRB, or collision-avoidance system.

Class B+ SOTDMA AIS generally provides higher output and more frequent reporting than standard 2W CSTDMA Class B equipment, but AIS transmission and use remain subject to MMSI registration, radio licensing, manufacturer instructions, and applicable U.S. regulations. Other vessels may not transmit AIS or may transmit incomplete/incorrect data.
