B&G Triton Autopilot Controller
Dedicated wind mode algorithms on sailing yachts activate instantly through a B&G Triton autopilot controller, which sends tactile course corrections to NAC processors over NMEA 2000 lines at 0.6 Watts.
- Dedicated wind mode tracks apparent wind angles
- Tactile keys provide single-degree course adjustments
- Draws low 50mA current across networks
- IPX7 waterproof construction withstands cockpit spray
The B&G Triton Autopilot Controller is a dedicated NMEA 2000 pilot keypad for compatible B&G sailing autopilot systems. It provides direct access to standby, auto, heading adjustments, wind steering, and Smart Manoeuvre functions when connected to a compatible NAC-series or H5000 course computer. This is a control interface only and does not include a steering drive, heading sensor, rudder-feedback sensor, or autopilot computer.
The low-profile controller connects through an NMEA 2000 Micro-C spur and receives network power. It is designed for exposed helm installation with IPX7 protection and includes a sun cover, gasket, and NMEA 2000 T-connector. Confirm the installed B&G autopilot processor, network capacity, helm mounting space, and required sailing-data sources before purchase.
System Integration
The Triton controller does not control a drive unit directly. It sends commands through the NMEA 2000 network to a compatible NAC or H5000 course computer, which then operates the matched steering drive. Wind steering requires compatible wind data, while route or waypoint steering requires a compatible chartplotter, GPS data source, and correctly configured navigation network.
Confirm exact course-computer support, network software compatibility, available NMEA 2000 backbone connection, steering-drive configuration, and required data sources before adding this controller as a primary or secondary helm station.
Before Ordering
Confirm a compatible B&G NAC-1, NAC-2, NAC-3, or H5000 autopilot computer, NMEA 2000 backbone, 12V network power, suitable flush or surface mounting space, heading sensor, steering drive, wind-data source where required, chartplotter navigation source where required, and complete autopilot-system components before purchase.
