Add straightforward fixed thermal viewing with tactile control to a compatible marine display setup using the FLIR MD-625 with Joystick Control Unit bundle. The package pairs a 640-class fixed thermal camera with a JCU controller, giving operators quick access to available camera functions without adding the size or sweep clearance of a pan-and-tilt turret. Need a dedicated thermal view for a bow, stern, dockside area, or repeated route? The MD-625 uses a 25° field of view, 2× digital zoom, and analog video output for compatible monitors and MFDs.

Integration

The bundle needs a compatible monitor, MFD, or analog video input to show the camera image. It is not a chartplotter, radar, GPS receiver, Ethernet IP camera, or autonomous navigation device. Confirm that the intended display supports NTSC/PAL composite video and identify any BNC, RCA, or display-specific adapter requirements before installation.

A fixed thermal camera can help supplement awareness in darkness, but it cannot guarantee detection or identification of every person, vessel, marker, or floating hazard. Actual image quality depends on thermal contrast, humidity, weather, sea state, lens cleanliness, and the selected mounting position.

Before Ordering

Confirm compatible analog video input, required NTSC/PAL format, joystick compatibility, intended fixed viewing direction, 12V/24V power availability, mounting location, cable routing, and whether a fixed camera meets the vessel’s thermal-viewing needs.
