The Ocean Scout Pro is a standalone thermal monocular, not a fixed MFD camera, chartplotter, radar, GPS receiver, or NMEA network device. Its Wi-Fi capability is intended for compatible mobile viewing or media functions rather than integration with a marine Ethernet network.
Thermal imaging detects heat contrast, not object identity. Performance can vary with weather, humidity, spray, target temperature, background temperature, sea state, distance, lens condition, and viewing technique. Use it as an additional awareness aid alongside radar, lights, charts, sound signals, and a proper visual watch.
