Furuno DRS25ANXT Doppler Radar Pedestal – Less Cable and Antenna

The Furuno DRS25A-NXT Doppler Radar Pedestal is a 200W solid-state pulse-compression open-array radar pedestal for compatible Furuno NavNet TZtouch3 systems. It requires a separately selected compatible four-foot or six-foot Furuno open-array antenna, radar cable, power supply, mounting platform, and display system. This pedestal-only product does not include the antenna radiator, display, chartplotter, network hardware, or installation materials required for a working radar system.

When paired with a compatible antenna array, the DRS25A-NXT provides a manufacturer-rated maximum instrumented range of 96 NM, Target Analyzer Doppler processing, Fast Target Tracking, Bird Mode, and pulse-compression radar performance. It requires a 24V DC supply and supports 24, 36, and 48 RPM rotation, with dual-range operation limited to 24 RPM. Practical radar detection and tracking depend on the selected antenna, scanner height, target characteristics, weather, sea state, radar settings, and installation quality.

Radar Integration

The DRS25A-NXT requires a compatible Furuno NavNet TZtouch3 MFD, NXT open-array antenna, Furuno Ethernet radar connection, and 24V DC power source. NMEA 2000 can provide compatible GPS, heading, AIS, autopilot, and sensor data, but radar video and control use Ethernet. Confirm the selected four-foot or six-foot array, compatible display version, antenna cable, network architecture, and power arrangement before purchase.

Target Analyzer Doppler processing can help highlight approaching and receding targets, while Fast Target Tracking and Bird Mode depend on compatible display functions and correct radar configuration. Radar overlay and tracking functions can require heading and GPS data. Radar is a navigation aid and does not replace a proper lookout, safe speed, official charts, local notices, or collision-regulation compliance.
