Furuno DRS4W – 1st Watch Wireless Radar Antenna

Bring a simple radar view to an iPad or iPhone with the Furuno DRS4W 1st Watch Wireless Radar Antenna. The 19-inch magnetron radome creates its own Wi-Fi connection, allowing boaters to use a compatible iOS device as the radar display for basic coastal awareness, harbor approaches, and nighttime boating. Need radar without installing a dedicated MFD? The DRS4W provides 4 kW output, up to 36 NM range scales, and 24 RPM scanning in a compact wireless radome.

Integration

The DRS4W uses Wi-Fi and a compatible iPad or iPhone rather than a conventional MFD network. It is not a chartplotter, GPS receiver, AIS display, or radar-overlay system. A compatible iOS device, the required Furuno application, vessel power, and an appropriate radome mount are needed for operation.

The 36 NM figure is an instrumented range, not guaranteed target detection. Actual results vary with radome height, target size, weather, rain, sea state, clutter, radar settings, and installation quality. Wi-Fi range and reliability also depend on device location, interference, obstructions, and onboard wireless traffic.
