The Garmin GCV 20 bundle adds Ultra HD scanning sonar to a compatible Garmin network, combining the GCV 20 black box with a GT34UHD-TM transom transducer. It provides UHD ClearVü and UHD SideVü for anglers who want a sharper view of bottom structure beside and beneath the boat. This is a network sonar system, so a compatible GPSMAP or ECHOMAP display is still required.

ClearVü operates at 800kHz with a listed 200-foot range, while SideVü uses 1,200kHz and reaches 125 feet on each side. That high-frequency design is aimed at detail and structure definition in relatively shallow water. Three Garmin Marine Network ports also act as a built-in network expander, which helps when several displays or modules share the system. The included GT34UHD-TM makes this bundle more complete than the GCV 20 module-only version.

Who Is This For?

This Garmin UHD scanning sonar bundle suits freshwater and coastal fishing boats that already use a compatible Garmin MFD. It is not ideal for buyers without a Garmin display or for deep-water anglers expecting long-range sonar from high-frequency SideVü; the transducer and water conditions limit practical range.

Warranty & Support

Garmin provides a 1-year limited warranty. The supplied specifications do not state warranty exclusions or service procedures.

The GCV 20 bundle is the practical Garmin choice when the boat needs UHD ClearVü and SideVü with the transducer included. Compared with the module-only version, it removes one major sourcing step. The trade-off is the high-frequency range: it gives excellent structure detail, but it is not the right tool for maximum deep-water coverage. Choose it for detailed scanning around the boat.
