Garmin Reactor 40 Mechanical/Retrofit/Solenoid Corepack w/o Display
Modernizing legacy solenoid valves without replacing drive units, this Garmin Reactor 40 corepack manages mechanical systems via solid-state 9-axis AHRS heading stabilization, delivering 40A drive capacity across 10V-to-30V networks at 0.7 kg.
- 40A drive capacity controls heavy solenoids
- Solid-state 9-axis AHRS stops heading drift
- Universal retrofit compatibility upgrades legacy systems
- IPX7 waterproof enclosure prevents moisture damage
Build a compatible autopilot retrofit with the Garmin Reactor 40 Mechanical/Retrofit/Solenoid Corepack without Display. This electronics package is designed for compatible mechanical drives, legacy retrofit systems, or solenoid-controlled steering arrangements, and includes a CCU, ECU, interconnect cable, and NMEA 2000 kit. A separate Garmin chartplotter or GHC autopilot display, suitable steering drive, and any required rudder-feedback hardware must be selected separately.
The Reactor 40 electronics support 10V to 30V DC systems and provide up to 40A drive-output capacity. Its solid-state nine-axis AHRS supplies heading and attitude data, while the listed below-200 mA draw applies to the core electronics rather than the connected drive load. Confirm the existing steering type, drive current, solenoid configuration, feedback requirements, display compatibility, and electrical protection before purchase.
System Integration
This is not a complete autopilot system. Mechanical installations require a compatible actuator or rotary drive; solenoid-controlled hydraulic systems require compatible valves and, where necessary, a rudder-feedback sensor. The ECU must be matched to the actual drive load, wiring size, breaker or fuse protection, and steering-system design.
The IPX7 CCU rating does not remove the need for proper protected mounting of the complete electronics installation. Locate the CCU away from magnetic interference, mount the ECU in a dry accessible location, and follow Garmin installation guidance for NMEA 2000 wiring, steering configuration, calibration, and sea trial setup.
Before Ordering
Confirm the vessel’s steering type, existing actuator or solenoid arrangement, maximum drive current, rudder-feedback requirement, compatible Garmin display, NMEA 2000 network capacity, 10V to 30V power supply, 40A circuit capacity, dry mounting space, and required installation hardware before purchase.
