Lowrance HALO24 Radar Dome w/Doppler Technology

The Lowrance HALO24 Doppler Radar is a 24-inch solid-state pulse-compression radar radome for compatible Lowrance multifunction displays. It combines VelocityTrack Doppler target highlighting, dual-range operation, selectable rotation speeds up to 60 RPM, and a narrow 3.9-degree beamwidth for stronger target separation than smaller radome scanners. The maximum instrumented range is rated up to 48 NM, while practical target detection depends on mounting height, target size, radar configuration, sea state, weather, and local interference.

The HALO24 requires a compatible Lowrance chartplotter or MFD, Ethernet radar connection, suitable mounting platform, and a correctly protected 12V or 24V power circuit. It is a radar scanner rather than a standalone navigation display. GPS position, heading data, AIS, charting, and connected vessel sensors are separate components required for compatible MARPA, radar overlay, and navigation functions.

Radar Integration

The HALO24 requires a compatible Lowrance MFD and Ethernet radar connection for radar video and control. NMEA 2000 can provide compatible heading, GPS, AIS, autopilot, and sensor data, but radar video is carried through Ethernet. Confirm compatible display family, software version, available Ethernet port, required network adapters, and cable routing before purchase.

MARPA and radar overlay require compatible heading and position sources where applicable. VelocityTrack Doppler can help identify moving targets, subject to target motion, scanner settings, sea clutter, rain, mounting height, and operating conditions. Radar is a navigation aid and does not replace a proper lookout, safe speed, official charts, local notices, or collision-regulation compliance.

Warranty and Saltwater Care

Lowrance warranty coverage varies by region, distributor, proof of purchase, product registration, installation method, and intended use. Confirm the applicable local warranty terms, exclusions, and service process before purchase.

The radar is designed for marine exposure and has IPX6 ingress protection, but this does not guarantee immunity from saltwater corrosion. Rinse salt deposits with fresh water where appropriate, avoid high-pressure spray at cable glands and connectors, inspect the radome base, mounting hardware, cable seals, and radar platform regularly, and use compatible marine-grade fasteners plus appropriate isolation methods to reduce galvanic-corrosion risk.
