Why Choose the Mermaid M16 Cool Only (110V)

This is the standard-voltage option for most domestic US boats, avoiding the added electrical complexity of stepping up to 220V or 230V for a cool-only system. At 12A running amperage, current draw is identical to the 220V and 230V Cool Only versions — voltage input is the differentiator, not electrical load.

Skipping reverse cycle heating means one less system to eventually service, a real advantage for boats used exclusively in warm-climate cruising. If heating needs come up later, that requires the Reverse Cycle version instead — there’s no field upgrade path on this cool-only unit.
