Larger cruisers and sailboats often outgrow what a 16,000 BTU system can comfortably handle, and the Mermaid M24 was built specifically to fill that gap — 24,000 BTU of cooling and reverse cycle heating on 220V power, sized for cruisers over 40 feet and sailboats over 45 feet.

Why Choose the Mermaid M24

This is Mermaid’s largest self-contained platform, and it exists because customers specifically asked for something beyond the 16,500 BTU ceiling of the M16 without stepping up to a split or chiller system. The trade-off for that added capacity is a larger physical footprint and higher current draw — worth confirming against your boat’s available installation space and electrical capacity before committing.

Only available in 220V — there’s no 110V or 230V version of the M24, unlike smaller Mermaid models. If your boat’s electrical system doesn’t support 220V, this specific unit isn’t an option regardless of the BTU capacity you need.

• Pump is not included and must be sourced separately
• The 8″ air output collar requires at least three 6″ vents; Mermaid provides splitters to divide the 8″ duct into multiple 6″ runs
