Raymarine Cyclone 55W Radar Power Pedestal Only
Spinning open array antennas up to 60 RPM for fast target refreshes, the Raymarine Cyclone 55W radar pedestal delivers 55W solid-state pulse compression across RayNet Ethernet lines, tracking 50 ARPA targets at 36.4 lbs.
- 55W solid-state power equals magnetron performance
- 60 RPM fast scan updates collision vectors
- ARPA tracking monitors fifty vessel hazards
- Fits 3ft, 4ft, and 6ft arrays
The Raymarine Cyclone 55W Radar Power Pedestal Only is the solid-state CHIRP pulse-compression pedestal for a custom Raymarine Cyclone open-array radar installation. It requires a separately selected three-foot, four-foot, or six-foot Cyclone antenna array, compatible Raymarine multifunction display, RayNet Ethernet cabling, power wiring, and a structurally suitable mounting platform. This is a radar pedestal only and cannot function as a complete scanner without the matching radiator array.
The 55W Cyclone pedestal supports a maximum instrumented range of up to 72 NM and antenna rotation speeds of 24, 36, 48, or 60 RPM when paired with a compatible Cyclone array. It supports Doppler target highlighting, ARPA tracking, and Bird Mode through the complete radar system. Practical detection range depends on the selected array, mounting height, target size, weather, sea conditions, radar settings, and installation quality.
Radar Integration
The pedestal must be paired with a compatible Cyclone radiator array and supported Raymarine Axiom, Axiom+, Axiom 2, Axiom Pro, or other approved RayNet multifunction display. RayNet Ethernet carries radar video and control data. SeaTalkng or NMEA 2000 can supply compatible heading, GPS, AIS, autopilot, and sensor data, but radar video does not use NMEA 2000.
ARPA and radar overlay require compatible heading and position sources where applicable. Doppler processing can help highlight moving targets, and Bird Mode can assist in locating bird activity, subject to scanner selection, radar configuration, target movement, mounting height, weather, and sea conditions. Radar is a navigation aid and does not replace a proper lookout, safe speed, official charts, local notices, or collision-regulation compliance.
Warranty and Saltwater Care
Raymarine warranty coverage varies by region, distributor, proof of purchase, product registration, installation method, and intended use. Confirm applicable local warranty terms, exclusions, registration requirements, and service process before purchase.
The pedestal is designed for marine exposure and has IPX6 ingress protection, but this does not guarantee immunity from saltwater corrosion. Rinse salt deposits with fresh water where appropriate, avoid direct high-pressure spray at cable glands and seals, inspect the pedestal base, antenna connection, fasteners, connectors, and mounting platform regularly, and use compatible marine-grade hardware plus approved isolation methods to reduce galvanic-corrosion risk.
Before Ordering
Confirm the selected compatible Cyclone array length, approved Raymarine MFD, RayNet Ethernet connection, 10.2V to 31.2V power supply, 70W transmit circuit capacity, mounting-platform strength, full rotating-array clearance, mounting height, personnel and compass-safe-distance requirements, heading and GPS sources for ARPA or radar overlay, required cables, and qualified installation requirements before purchase.
