The Raymarine i50 Speed is a compact instrument for displaying speed through water, trip distance, total log, maximum speed, average speed, and water temperature. It is designed for a sailing boat, runabout, or fishing boat where speed data should remain visible without taking over the main chartplotter. This display-only unit needs a compatible paddlewheel or network sensor.

The large-character monochrome LCD is easy to check while the boat is moving, and adjustable red backlighting helps at night. SeaTalkng and NMEA 2000 carry data through the instrument network, while the display can also accept analogue paddlewheel input lines. Its 45mA operating draw and 90mA maximum backlit draw are modest for a 12V system. No speed transducer is included, so confirm the sensor and cabling before installation.

Who Is This For?

This dedicated marine speed display suits sailing yachts, day boats, secondary cockpit stations, and open-deck fishing skiffs. It is not ideal for buyers wanting a chartplotter, radar, or included speed sensor, because the display depends on a compatible network or paddlewheel input.

Warranty & Support

Raymarine provides a 2-year standard warranty, or 3 years with registration as listed in the supplied specifications. Warranty exclusions and service procedures were not provided.

The i50 Speed is a simple way to keep speed and log data visible at the helm without adding another multifunction display page. Its trade-off is the missing sensor, so it makes the most sense as a replacement or expansion in an existing Raymarine instrument network. Choose the Tridata package if depth and temperature should be included in the same display system.
