The Simrad HALO 3004 4 Foot Open Array Radar with 20 m Cable Kit is a high-power solid-state pulse-compression open-array radar system for compatible Simrad multifunction displays. It combines a 4 ft rotating antenna array, pedestal, and 20 m power-and-Ethernet cable kit to provide close-range and long-range radar awareness. VelocityTrack Doppler technology helps highlight approaching and diverging targets, while the narrow 1.8-degree beamwidth supports improved angular target separation.

The HALO 3004 provides 130W solid-state output and a manufacturer-rated maximum instrumented range of up to 96 NM. It supports rotation speeds from 16 to 60 RPM, dual-range radar operation, advanced ARPA tracking, Bird Mode, and compatible radar overlay. Practical detection and tracking performance depend on antenna height, scanner installation, target size, weather, sea clutter, radar settings, heading data, and local operating conditions.

Radar Integration

The HALO 3004 requires a compatible Simrad multifunction display and Ethernet connection for radar video and scanner control. NMEA 2000 can provide compatible GPS, heading, AIS, autopilot, and sensor information, but radar video is carried through Ethernet. Confirm MFD compatibility, available Ethernet port, software version, cable routing, and network architecture before purchase.

ARPA and radar overlay require compatible heading and position sources. VelocityTrack Doppler can help highlight moving targets, while Bird Mode may help identify bird activity, subject to target movement, radar configuration, sea state, weather, mounting height, and local conditions. Radar is a navigation aid and does not replace a proper lookout, safe speed, official charts, local notices, or collision-regulation compliance.

Warranty and Saltwater Care

Simrad warranty coverage varies by region, distributor, proof of purchase, product registration, installation method, and intended use. Confirm the applicable local warranty terms, exclusions, and service process before purchase.

The scanner is designed for marine exposure and has IPX6 ingress protection, but this does not guarantee immunity from saltwater corrosion. Rinse salt deposits with fresh water where appropriate, avoid high-pressure spray at cable glands and connectors, inspect the pedestal, antenna array, fasteners, mounting platform, and cable seals regularly, and use compatible marine-grade hardware plus appropriate isolation methods to reduce galvanic-corrosion risk.

Before Ordering

Confirm compatible Simrad MFD support, Ethernet radar connection, suitability of the included 20 m cable route, 10.5V to 31.2V power supply, four-foot array rotation clearance, mounting-platform strength, mounting height, personnel and compass-safe-distance requirements, heading and GPS source for ARPA or radar overlay, optional AIS integration, software compatibility, and qualified installation requirements before purchase.
