The TAILFIN Remote Kicker Steering System is a wireless electromechanical steering system for compatible kicker outboards up to 25 horsepower. It uses a 12V actuator and handheld remote to move the kicker motor through a snap-on mechanical linkage, allowing the operator to steer a trolling or closed-throttle cruising kicker from elsewhere on the boat. It is a remote steering system, not a GPS autopilot, and does not provide automatic course holding, route following, or chartplotter navigation control.
The package includes the TAILFIN actuator, wireless handheld remote, and mounting kit. Adjustable speed and sensitivity settings allow the user to tailor steering response for the boat and trolling conditions. Confirm the kicker outboard model, horsepower, bracket and transom configuration, steering-arm clearance, linkage fitment, and available 12V power before purchase.
System Integration
The TAILFIN works independently from a marine autopilot and does not need a course computer, heading sensor, display, NMEA 2000 network, or hydraulic pump. It provides wireless steering control only. The operator remains responsible for steering, navigation, throttle control, lookout, and safe vessel operation.
Check whether the kicker motor can move freely through its full steering range with the actuator fitted. Confirm compatibility with the kicker bracket, motor cowling, primary engine position, transom layout, tie bar where fitted, and intended remote-control operating area.
