The Raritan MK2 is a dedicated rudder angle indicator for boats that need a clear steering-position reading at the helm. Its analogue pointer shows the rudder moving through port and starboard, which is especially useful during docking, backing, and low-speed maneuvering. The MK2 is a display meter only and requires a matching Raritan rudder feedback transmitter.

The larger 4-1/2-inch housing can be surface mounted or fitted into a console panel, making it useful on trawlers, workboats, older cruisers, and vintage wooden yachts. It supports 12V or 24V configurations and draws up to 60mA with the backlight operating. The analogue resistive input works with traditional mechanical or hydraulic steering arrangements. There is no NMEA 2000, NMEA 0183, GPS, or network connection, so sender compatibility is the key installation check.

Who Is This For?

This marine rudder angle indicator suits displacement trawlers, inboard cruisers, commercial workboats, and vintage wooden yachts. It is not ideal for a boat using only digital NMEA instruments or a buyer who does not have the matching Raritan rudder sender.

Warranty & Support

The supplied specifications do not state a warranty term. Confirm current Raritan warranty coverage and exclusions before purchase.

The MK2 is the larger surface-mount alternative to the MK5, giving the helm a bigger rudder pointer for easier reading from a wider steering position. The trade-off is the same analogue dependency: it needs a compatible Raritan sender and direct wiring. Choose it for a traditional steering system where rudder position matters more than network integration.
