Lombardini LMG 4000 – 4kVA Supersilenced Marine Generator

The Lombardini Marine LMG 4000 is a compact supersilenced diesel generator for 230V, 50Hz single-phase onboard AC systems. It delivers 3.2 kW continuous output, or 4 kVA, at 3,000 RPM and uses a Lombardini 15LD 350 single-cylinder diesel engine with a brushless synchronous alternator. Its insulated fiberglass canopy helps reduce operating noise while protecting the generator in a correctly ventilated marine installation.

The generator uses a 12V electric starter and a water-cooled alternator with seawater circuit components, while the single-cylinder engine is air cooled. It includes a remote control panel with a 10 m plug-in cable, battery charger, and automatic shutdown protection. A complete marine installation still requires correctly designed fuel, seawater, exhaust, ventilation, starting-battery, AC distribution, shore-power transfer, grounding, and circuit-protection systems.

System Integration

This generator requires a complete marine electrical and mechanical installation. Add diesel fuel feed and return lines, raw-water intake and strainer, anti-siphon arrangement where required, wet exhaust hose and waterlock components, ventilation, starting battery, AC breakers, grounding and bonding, shore-power transfer or interlock equipment, and correctly rated marine cables.

Confirm that onboard equipment is compatible with 230V, 50Hz single-phase power and that expected continuous load remains within 3.2 kW. Allow for motor-starting surge from refrigeration compressors, pumps, air-conditioning equipment, chargers, or galley appliances before selecting generator capacity.
