The Lombardini Marine LMG 18000 is a high-output supersilenced diesel generator for vessels requiring substantial onboard AC power. In its 50Hz configuration, it provides 16 kW continuous output, or 20 kVA, at 3,000 RPM. The generator uses a Lombardini LDW 2204 four-cylinder FOCS marine diesel engine, a water-cooled brushless alternator, and a sound-insulated fiberglass canopy for suitable yacht, commercial, or high-demand vessel installations.

The standard 50Hz generator configuration provides 400/230V three-phase AC output. A single-phase version may be available for selected markets or model configurations, but voltage, phase, frequency, and output must be verified against the exact order code. The generator requires a complete fuel, cooling, exhaust, ventilation, starting, AC distribution, isolation, grounding, and service-access installation plan.

System Integration

This generator requires a professionally designed marine installation, including diesel fuel feed and return, raw-water intake and strainer, exhaust and waterlock system, engine-room ventilation, starting battery, three-phase or single-phase AC distribution, transfer switch or shore-power interlock, grounding and bonding, circuit protection, and appropriately rated cables.

Assess continuous demand, simultaneous loads, power factor, phase balancing for three-phase installations, motor-starting surge, and future expansion before selecting a 20 kVA generator. Confirm whether the vessel electrical system uses 230V single-phase or 400/230V three-phase power, as incorrect phase or frequency selection can damage onboard equipment.

Before Ordering

Confirm continuous and surge load requirements, exact 50Hz voltage and phase configuration, available 1,070 mm by 580 mm by 650 mm installation space, structural support for approximately 310 kg, diesel fuel layout, raw-water intake, exhaust route, ventilation, starting-battery connection, remote-control cable route, three-phase distribution and phase balancing where applicable, transfer-switch design, grounding plan, service access, and qualified marine-generator installation requirements before purchase.
