The B&G H5000 Pilot Controller is a dedicated flush-mount autopilot control display for compatible H5000 performance sailing systems. Its optically bonded glass display, tactile control layout, and rotary input provide a dedicated helm interface for engaging the autopilot, changing course in one-degree increments, selecting operating modes, and monitoring steering information. It connects through the NMEA 2000 network and does not contain a steering-drive controller.

The controller measures 178 mm wide by 114 mm high, weighs 0.5 kg, and has an IPX7 waterproof front face for exposed helm use. Typical current draw is listed at 0.1A from the 12V NMEA 2000 network. The package includes a sun cover, mounting gasket, and NMEA 2000 cable. A compatible H5000 pilot computer or supported B&G networked autopilot system is required.

System Integration

This controller is not a complete autopilot. It requires a compatible H5000 pilot computer or supported B&G autopilot processor, a heading source, steering drive, appropriate electrical system, and NMEA 2000 backbone. It is well suited as a dedicated pilot interface at a sailing helm, but it does not replace a chartplotter, course computer, or drive unit.

Confirm the helm-panel cutout, 178 mm by 114 mm face clearance, rear cable space, NMEA 2000 drop connection, network power capacity, and the exact H5000 or B&G autopilot components already installed. Fit the gasket correctly and keep the rear connections protected from persistent water exposure.

Before Ordering

Confirm a compatible H5000 or supported B&G autopilot system, available flush-mount panel space, NMEA 2000 backbone connection, 12V network power, rear cable clearance, controller location, and the presence of a separate course computer, heading sensor, and steering drive before purchase.
