Integration

The Fantom 18x requires a compatible Garmin chartplotter or MFD for radar control and display. Garmin Marine Network or compatible BlueNet connections carry radar video, while NMEA 2000 can add position, heading, AIS, autopilot, and other vessel-sensor data.

MotionScope Doppler can help make moving radar returns easier to notice. MARPA and radar overlay need compatible heading and position sources, and the 48 NM instrumented range does not guarantee detection at that distance. Target size, scanner height, rain, sea state, clutter, installation, and user settings affect practical performance.
