Garmin Reactor 40 Hydraulic Autopilot Corepack Only
Custom powerboat and sailboat retrofits integrate existing hydraulic drive lines through the Garmin Reactor 40 hydraulic autopilot, delivering 40A peak current to 1.0L, 2.0L, or SmartPump V2 units across 12V or 24V networks.
- Solid-state 9-axis AHRS maintains 1-degree accuracy
- Drives 1.0L, 2.0L, and SmartPump V2 arrays
- Adaptive 12V/24V circuitry matches vessel power
- Shadow Drive allows manual helm takeover
- NMEA 2000 backbone links marine chartplotters
The Garmin Reactor 40 Hydraulic Autopilot Corepack Only, SKU 010-02794-00, provides the core electronics for a custom hydraulic autopilot installation. It includes the Reactor 40 CCU and ECU architecture but requires a separate compatible display, hydraulic pump, fittings, hoses, and vessel-specific installation components. It is intended for powerboats and sailboats with compatible hydraulic steering systems.
The corepack supports 12V or 24V DC power, NMEA 2000 networking, and a solid-state nine-axis AHRS. It can be paired with compatible 1.0 L, 2.0 L, or SmartPump V2 drive options, with up to 40A peak output capacity. Correct pump selection depends on hydraulic-cylinder volume, system pressure, cylinder count, vessel use, and the steering manufacturer’s requirements.
Hydraulic System Matching
Measure the steering-cylinder volume before selecting a pump. The selected pump must match the cylinder volume, hydraulic pressure rating, total steering cylinders, helm-pump arrangement, and hydraulic hose specification. A proper installation may also require adapters, T-fittings, isolation valves, and hose rated for the system’s operating pressure.
The corepack does not include a control display. Use a compatible Garmin GHC autopilot display or Garmin chartplotter for configuration and operation. Install the CCU clear of magnetic interference and mount the ECU in a protected, accessible area with suitable ventilation and wiring access.
Before Ordering
Confirm the hydraulic-cylinder volume, system pressure, required pump size, fitting standard, hose routing, compatible Garmin display, NMEA 2000 network, 12V or 24V supply, 40A peak circuit capacity, CCU location, ECU mounting space, and all required hydraulic installation parts before purchase.
