The Raritan MK5 is a dedicated marine rudder angle indicator for boats that need a simple mechanical readout at the helm. It shows rudder position to port and starboard through an analogue sweeping pointer, making docking and low-speed maneuvering easier to judge without looking away from the wheel. This is a gauge only and requires a matching Raritan rudder feedback transmitter.

The MK5 uses a standard analogue resistive signal and supports 12V or 24V configurations, so it can fit traditional mechanical quadrants, tiller arms, and hydraulic steering systems when the sender is compatible. Internal incandescent backlighting helps at night, while the 3-3/8-inch hole size suits a conventional instrument panel. It has no NMEA 2000, NMEA 0183, charting, or network connection. Confirm the sender before installation; the indicator cannot determine rudder angle by itself.

Who Is This For?

This rudder angle indicator suits trawlers, inboard cruisers, workboats, and flybridge yachts that need a dedicated steering-position gauge. It is not ideal for a digital NMEA network installation or a buyer without the matching Raritan feedback sender.

Warranty & Support

The supplied specifications do not state a warranty term. Confirm current Raritan warranty coverage and exclusions before purchase.

The MK5 is the larger, traditional rudder-angle gauge choice when the helmsman wants a clear pointer during docking and close-quarters handling. Its trade-off is the analogue installation: a compatible sender and direct wiring are required, with no NMEA data connection. Choose it for a conventional steering system, not a modern networked instrument layout.
