Integration

The Cortex M1 requires compatible Cortex handsets or approved display/control devices, VHF and AIS antenna arrangements, MMSI programming, and appropriate GNSS installation. It is not a standalone chartplotter, radar, emergency beacon, or guaranteed collision-avoidance system. Confirm the required handset, antenna splitter, external GPS antenna, and network components before ordering.

VHF DSC and AIS transmission require correct MMSI registration and vessel data. In the U.S., Channel 70 is reserved for DSC and should not be used for voice calls; VHF Channel 16 is used for distress, safety, and calling. [928][932] Remote-monitoring functions depend on supporting service plans, cellular/data availability, configuration, and connected accessories.
