Share a single VHF antenna while adding 5W Class B SOTDMA AIS with the SI-TEX MDA-5H Transceiver. Its built-in zero-loss antenna splitter, internal 50-channel GPS receiver, and wired NMEA connections make it suitable for boats that need higher-power AIS but prefer not to add Wi-Fi or Bluetooth equipment onboard. Need stronger AIS transmission without finding space for another antenna? The MDA-5H supports NMEA 2000, dual NMEA 0183 ports, and USB in a compact protected enclosure for below-deck installation.

Integration

The MDA-5H requires a compatible VHF voice radio, shared VHF antenna, valid MMSI/static vessel-data programming, and an MFD, chartplotter, radar display, or computer to show AIS data. It is not a VHF voice radio, radar, chartplotter, emergency beacon, or collision-avoidance guarantee.

The internal splitter can simplify the antenna arrangement, but the VHF antenna, radio, and AIS ports must be connected exactly according to manufacturer instructions. SOTDMA Class B offers higher AIS output than standard 2W CSTDMA Class B equipment, but reception and transmission remain dependent on antenna quality, VHF coverage, GNSS reception, and accurate vessel programming.

Before Ordering

Confirm Class B SOTDMA suitability, VHF radio and antenna compatibility, shared-antenna splitter requirements, MMSI registration, GNSS antenna needs, NMEA/USB interface requirements, 12V/24V power availability, and protected installation space before ordering.
