The Furuno NAVpilot 700 Series Processor Unit, FAP-7002, is an adaptive autopilot course computer for compatible Furuno NAVpilot 700 and 711C installations. It provides PWM reversing-motor control for a separately selected steering drive and supports hydraulic pumps, mechanical steering actuators, sterndrive systems, and selected digital steering interfaces when matched to the correct Furuno system configuration.

The processor supports 12V or 24V DC systems and provides up to 25A peak drive output. It integrates with compatible Furuno control heads, heading sensors, NMEA 2000 equipment, NMEA 0183 navigation sources, and CAN-bus interfaces. This is a processor-only component and requires a compatible display, heading sensor, steering drive, required feedback arrangement, and complete system wiring.

System Integration

The FAP-7002 is not a complete autopilot system. It requires a compatible NAVpilot control head, heading sensor or compass, selected steering drive, power supply, network connections, and appropriate feedback arrangement. Furuno Fantum Feedback may reduce the need for physical rudder feedback in suitable hydraulic installations, but physical feedback may still be necessary depending on steering type and vessel configuration.

Select the hydraulic pump or mechanical actuator based on cylinder volume, steering pressure, vessel displacement, required hardover time, drive current, and output compatibility. The connected steering drive must remain within the processor’s approved output and duty-cycle limits.

Before Ordering

Confirm compatible NAVpilot 700 or 711C control equipment, selected hydraulic pump or mechanical drive, drive current and duty cycle within the FAP-7002 rating, 12V or 24V supply, heading-sensor requirement, feedback method, NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 connections, CAN-bus interface where applicable, dry processor mounting space, cable sizing, circuit protection, and complete autopilot-system components before purchase.
