SI-TEX SAS-300 AIS Class B Transceiver – Display Only f/Use w/Existing AIS

Its 5-inch color LCD and NMEA 2000/NMEA 0183 connections provide a separate AIS viewing and control point for vessels that already have a compatible AIS receiver or transceiver onboard. The SAS-300 connects to an existing AIS system, displays received target information, and can be mounted at the helm using a flush panel or trunnion bracket.

Integration

The SAS-300 is a display terminal only and cannot receive or transmit AIS data by itself. It requires a compatible AIS transceiver or receiver, the correct NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2000 connection, and any antennas, GNSS source, or MMSI programming needed by the connected AIS unit.

A dedicated AIS display can supplement a chartplotter, but it is not a radar, VHF radio, chartplotter, emergency beacon, or collision-avoidance system. AIS target data depends on the connected receiver/transceiver, antenna installation, VHF coverage, and other vessels transmitting accurate information.

Before Ordering

Confirm the existing AIS unit is compatible, identify required NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2000 connections, verify helm mounting space, check 12V/24V power availability, and determine whether a dedicated AIS display is needed alongside the vessel chartplotter before ordering.
