The Simrad A2004 Autopilot Pack is a commercial autopilot electronics package that combines the A2004 rotary control display, AC70 autopilot computer, RF300 rudder-feedback unit, and Precision-9 compass. It is designed for professional and commercial vessels using compatible reversible motors, reversible pumps, or non-isolated solenoid valves. A separate steering drive, pump, solenoid assembly, and vessel-specific installation hardware are still required. [257][260]

The AC70 course computer supports 12V or 24V DC power and controls compatible reversible motors or non-isolated solenoids. The RF300 provides physical rudder-angle feedback through a 10 m cable and mechanical linkage, while the Precision-9 delivers heading, rate-of-turn, pitch, and roll data. The A2004 display uses a wide-angle, zero-fog color screen suited to professional helm use. [257][258]

System Integration

This pack provides the key electronic and sensing components for a commercial autopilot installation, but it does not include the actual steering actuator. Select the drive based on vessel displacement, steering type, hydraulic-cylinder volume where applicable, motor or solenoid current, required rudder force, and the AC70 output capability.

The RF300 must be mechanically linked to the rudder system, while the Precision-9 must be mounted away from magnetic interference and vibration. The AC70 requires protected mounting, appropriate cable sizing, circuit protection, and a compatible network layout. Optional modules can add thruster control in suitable installations. [262]

Before Ordering
