Bring VHF communication, Class B SOTDMA AIS, and remote vessel monitoring together with the Vesper Cortex V1 SmartAIS VHF System. The package combines a VHF/AIS hub with a 4-inch touchscreen handset, making it useful for operators who want voice communication, DSC, AIS target data, and onboard monitoring in a single connected platform. Need to manage radio and AIS functions from a modern touchscreen handset? The Cortex V1 supports 25W VHF transmission, 5W SOTDMA AIS, NMEA networking, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and optional remote-monitoring services.

Integration

The Cortex V1 requires properly installed VHF/AIS antenna arrangements, valid MMSI/static vessel-data programming, GNSS reception, and compatible network/display connections. It is not a radar, chartplotter, EPIRB, or automatic collision-avoidance system. Confirm whether separate antennas or a manufacturer-approved splitter are required for the planned installation.

Class D DSC requires a properly programmed MMSI and valid GPS position. In the U.S., Channel 16 is used for distress, safety, and calling; Channel 70 is reserved for DSC and must not be used for voice communications. [928][932] Remote-monitoring features depend on service availability, subscription terms, connected sensors, network access, and configuration.
