Digital Yacht Nomad 2 Portable AIS w/GV30

Carry Class B AIS capability between boats or use it as a portable navigation setup with the Digital Yacht Nomad 2 and GV30 combination antenna. The compact transponder combines 2W CSTDMA AIS transmission, dual-channel reception, built-in Wi-Fi, and a combined VHF/GPS antenna to provide AIS target data on compatible tablets, PCs, and smartphones. Need AIS without permanently wiring an MFD or installing a fixed antenna system? The Nomad 2 supports USB, NMEA 0183, Wi-Fi, 5V USB power, and optional 12V DC operation in a portable IPX7 enclosure.

Integration

The Nomad 2 requires correct MMSI/static vessel-data programming and a compatible tablet, phone, PC, or chartplotter application to show AIS targets. It is not a VHF voice radio, radar, chartplotter, EPIRB, or collision-avoidance guarantee. Its portable combined antenna should be positioned where it has a clear view of the sky and as much clear VHF exposure as practical.

A portable AIS configuration can be convenient for temporary use, but reception and transmission performance depend on antenna height, mounting surface, VHF interference, weather, cable routing, device configuration, and local AIS coverage. AIS does not show all vessels or hazards.
